For the project, we had to make a song about mitosis. This was for Mrs. Cox class, period 1. Here's our performance (:
Starring:

Credit to Kathy Pham for filming! Thank you Kathy :D

Lyrics:
(Birthday Sex)
Its Mitosis so I know you want to divide out.
Two daughter cells are the product of this division.
2 and 3, add them together.
That makes 5, and thats how many steps there are
Mitosis (3x)
(Oooh)

(TiK ToK)
Oh oh oh (2x)
Step one, interphase.
Period of cell growth.
Synthesize, organize molecules and organelles.
G1, S, G2 are all part of interphase.
(Oh Oh Oh) Two chromosomes with centriole pairs.

(Replay)
Prophase is the second part of this stage in the nucleus of the cell.
Nananana at every rate, centrioles begin to separate (-ate, -ate)
Chromatins start to condense into visible chromosomes.
Nucleus disappears, centrioles reappear at opposite ends.
Who wouldve ever knew, a mitotic spindle would form.
Its worldwide across the cell, pulling chromatids away.

(Tie Me Down)
Though its only for a few minutes,
But uh, its still really important like,
These chromosomes
Lining up at the metaphase plate
And right now theyre pretty much away from it
Division, I think that they should wait for it
I mean later we divide things out
But not right now cause,
Now were in metaphase
The third stage
Lining up with all the chromosomes
Across the cell
Happening right now
Its lining up with chromosomes
At its centromere, centromere, centromere
On the spindle fiber, spindle fiber

(Blame It)
Chromosomes line up up, across the cells center what what.
Paired chromosomes separate, at the kinetochores.
Then move to opposite sides, opposite sides.
Blame it on the divide, got the cells feeling alive.
Blame it on the chromosomes, got them feeling original.
Blame it on the a-a-a-anaphase. Blame it on the a-a-a-anaphase.

(Take You There)
Next phase (phase),
Is telophase (telophase),
The 5th stage (5th stage),
Chromosomes (-mosomes)
Gather (gather)
At different ends (different ends)
They get dense (they get dense)
This is called telophase,
Reverse of prophase,
Shawty, please just get it straight
Nuclear envelops form,
Then it begins splitting,
Shawty please just get it straight,
Straight, cause now were in

(Empire State of Mind)
Cytokinesis
Yeah,
Yeah I was up at interphase
Then I went to prophase
Right next to anaphase
But Ill be last forever
Im the next M stage
Now imp at the cytoplasm
Ill divide it anywhere
Yeah I do it many ways
I work in plants & animals
Right up in the membrane
Pinching into two parts
(With its own) nucleus, and organelles
Cytokinesis
The cells will make you feel brand new
New cells are inside of you
In cytokinesis, -nesis, -nesis
