Another pretty excellent shmup from Compile. Unlike their previous titles, which take place in ancient Japan, this game has more of a fantasy-oriented setting. As far as the weapon system is concerned, you collect different colored orbs, of which you can hold three at a time. Your weapon is determined by the combination of colors that you currently have, allowing for a lot of variety and depth.

  • Good stuff, since it's Compile I see it got MUSHA Aleste genes

  • Playing this sorta made me nostalgic for it. My favorite genny game, hands down.

  • They've gotta port this to Wii! I've played Blazing Lazers ever since it came out and I've never tired of these PC Engine shooters. Not only are PC Engine shooters incredibly challenging, but the music is absolutely fantastic! Among my absolute favorite VG music. I really want to know who plays the music for games like Lords of Thunder. Also, who does the music for this one? The drum breakdowns are very similar to Blazing Lazers and the soldier series.

  • OMG awesomeness.

  • Could've been named "Musha Aleste 2" or "Robo Aleste 2" :P

  • @Medelus I picked it up for 40 bucks recently...i mean Musha.

  • I only want this game for the PC Engine; Everything else I've wanted I already have thanks to the virtual console. The PC Engine emulator roms are too complicated and too much work to fuck around with; It's not justifiable labor if I'm going to use it to simply play one game.

  • Buy games on wii is extorsion

  • No I will not fuck wii and I have Magic Engine. I just like the idea of good games getting the exposure they deserve! Virtual console is a great thing for that.

  • @DmanOCN

    NO that's a lie

  • @pirategreytooth

Fuck wii get a hack of magic engine and play it free

  • The guy who did the music for Lords of Thunder is the same guy who is currently doing the game music for Guilty Gears, can't recall his name atm though.
