    Everyone knows that. The newscaster did not pause after he finished his sentence about Dana, so it sounded like the first part of the top story was referring to Dana, not the guy... The result is this video where, at first glance, it appears that the newscaster is talking about his co-anchor's murder. Instead of prefacing it with something serious and somber, he simply says "Dana is off tonight," which is comically inappropriate.

    Do you guys not understand why this is funny or something? Dana is the co-host, she wasn't going to be there that day. When he said "Dana was off tonight" he didn't pause before he went into the next topic about a man being murdered, so it sounded like Dana was murdered
