Tell you this, I was driving to work during the evening and the winds were starting to rock my car while on the way to work. After I got there, I got inside and then all hell broke loose for real, it got dark and the winds were freaking strong indeed. If I had taken a few minutes longer, I would have never been able to go anywhere, except hunker down in my vehicle and wait until morning, which would not have been cool.

i just missed this hurricane by a couple of days!! it hit Florida just 2 days after i got home from holiday!! 2004 was my first holiday to Orlando.

Yea, sadly I wasn't here in 2004. I have been wanting to feel the power of a real hurricane since a while. Hopefully one will come this season.

charley was my first and hell.. i want another one.. me, my brother and my sister went out in it.. hell of a good time!!!

2004 was awful in Florida. Seriously. Charley, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne, then the next year Katrina, Wilma, and Rita. Seriously. Its now the Plywood state rather than Sunshine state. HAHA I still love living here though.

Orlando is brushed by tropical storms or hurricanes pretty frequently, but a direct hit like Charley is quite rare. Hurricane Charley was the first direct hit to the city since Hurricane Donna in 1960.
