I recognized the church! from November 1975!! I was stationed in Argentiia for 18 months while in the US Navy. OH how I love Newfoundland! Thanks for the post. It was good to see that bridge again also. I have a shot of Placentia while I am sitting on the cannon on Castle Hill :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I sure would not like this obstruction of noise and useless dangerous driving zooming through my peaceful community.....all for the sake of ego boosting nonsense!!!! No wonder some Nfld. communities have banished it. Take this to Europe!!!!

Thank you SOOO much for posting this!
After the beginning, . . .I kep' on waitin' for ya t'get t'nother straight stretch, where you could just zoom off, . . . and maybe, . . . swoop down, . . . and land on the water, . . . I don't know what all this was about, . . . I guess, . . . a guy would have to be from Newfoundland, . . . maybe, this is drivin' around the whole island, . . . or something, . . .

See TargaNewfoundland (dot) com for info.
In the Touring Class competition we must stick to a specified avg speed, in this stage it was 60km/h, ie. 1km/min. We started 0.14km into the stage, at 17 secs into the video. Watch the red odometer display. One minute later, at 1:17 into the clip we should be exactly 1km further, ie. 1.14km into the stage,
2:17 = 2.14km
3:17 = 3.14km
4:17 = 4.14km.
It's easy to do this speed on the straights. It got a lot tougher though in the tight bit at the end.
