While it is true that Democrats feared a Romney nomination, so did neo-cons. That is why McCain's former campaign chairman, Fred Thompson ran - to cut into Romney's likely supporters. Huckabee ran to take the evangelical vote that otherwise would have gone to Mitt for his family values. Remember Huckabee's vicious attacks on Mitt's Mormanism? With neo-con Fox News giving Huckabee a job, they have kept him in the spotlight, so I expect him to return as a nemesis to Romney.

And that is why Democrats were the most scared of having Romney going up against Obama so they pushed Mccain and trashed Romney.
All the left wing websites, media and democrats attacks were focus at Romney during the primary! They knew he would put Osama in his place.
