Mavericks Wave Slams Spectators pt1

I watched the first 2 waves come in and drench people, so I pulled out my flip cam (instead of my expensive equipment which remained in a water tight case) and started shooting. I stood behind a log on a slightly elevated bit of ground and only got wet up to my knees. After I saw how dangerous it was I headed up the hill a little ways and continued shooting with my better HD camera.

@wavepainter The only people responsible are the spectators...i've been to most contests out at Mavs and these morons were warned consistently for a good hour and a half as 5 or 6 of the smaller rushes came in over the wall and jetti...their own stupidity lead to this...

Haha All I have to say, IDIOTS!! everyone there deserved to get shaken up and scared. If they broke bones and hurt themselves GOOD!!. tsunami's are no joke even if it's a small surge. It's a powerful rush of water and haha what goofs!! What did the expect lol!!
