  • yea cost is a bit more but beats the hell out of carring your torch kit down with all the shit that comes along with it and then having to solder it in a tight ass spot, well worth the extra couple of bucks for the shark bite. nice vid

  • @plumber8484 Hey 84;

    This was one of those spots where there wasn't very much room. I placed the camera up there and wasn't even sure if it was catching the work being done.

    I managed to repair the leak and went back later and ended up doing all the waterlines over. They were pretty ripe.

    They are ideal for a quick fix and I have seen them in places where they have been installed for 5 years and are still water tight.

    Thanks for the comments and enjoy your week!!! Al

  • if you did it right, you would not fight with it. I have installed hundreds of them. also, try some editing !

  • @handyman8494hello;

    You have no idea where this pipe was at I can guarentee you that Mr. Handyman.No doubt you have installed hundreds as you say,but positive tips would be more propriate and more constructive to help everyone.This was up in a floor joist where I could barely get to and was able to make the repair.I placed the camera there and had no idea if it was covering the entire area.I will take the editing comment under consideration.

    Have a great day! Al

  • You should always deburred the pipe when using SharkBite fittings. So you don't damage the o'ring.

  • @diamondbus426 Hello there;

    If you can debur it; it could help, but I haven't had any issues yet on the installs.

    Thanks for commenting and enjoy 2012!! Al

  • I am going to even subscribe to your video's if you don't mind. I see you have made a lot of video's. Maybe I can learn something from a long time plumber. I have worked in the main line sewers for over 30 years also. Pipeline tv operator and anything associated with the sewers. I also enjoy doing plumbing and home inspections. Thanks AL !

  • sorry Al, my mistake. good job !

  • @greekmaster1001 hello;

    You are correct there for sure. The cost of a sharkbite is quite a bit higher then a 1/2" coupling, but the installation is a lot easier. They are becoming very popular and seem to be working very well!

    Thanks for commenting and enjoy 20121 Al

  • thats a way more expensive fitting though than a 1/2"coupling thats for sure!

  • jeeeeeeez do some editing when you cutting the pipe lol
