Took a new BMW K1600GTL for a test ride. Woman rider going from a cruiser with cable throttle to this torqued up, 160hp beast with a zippy electronic throttle. 1st gear is TALL and I'm not used to working with such high RMP. But cornering and handling were amazing, and this thing is so punchy. Comfortable, lots of HP, but also easy for me to flat-foot. Definitely an incredible motorcycle. Camera mic picked up engine sound and my conversation with another rider on a comm system. Need to find room in my garage for it!

  • I'v been drooling over the same bike.....

  • @Rudyv123 - they do demos! The scary thing is if you ride one, you'll want one. They're truly amazing. See if your local BMW dealer offers a demo ride - or look for the BMW demo truck - they travel the nation with a fleet of these monsters! Drool!

  • I see your well on your way to being a chronic sufferer of MBD (Multiple Bike Disorder) LOL !

  • @WatchToddPattison LOL - yep, I'm a sick puppy. If I had Jay Lenno's income and space, I'd be in real trouble. :-)

  • You're not going to replace one of the Victories are you?

  • @glennofsb - No, I'm keeping them both. Don't think I'll ever part with the Ness Jackpot (I swear I'll be buried with that thing!), and the more I ride the XC the more I love it. Handled soooo well through the corners coming back from Reno this past weekend. We need two tourers, so my hubby will likely upgrade his BMW R1200RT for the 1600. So nice of him to 'take one for the team'. LOL

  • @rlunderhill I'm used to riding a cruiser (HD V Rod) with my feet out in front of me. So I ordered my GTL with the taller seat so my legs would be a little less bent. My wife and I rode my V Rod 2 up for 3300 miles last year, that's why I ordered a luxury touring bike. The GTL is phenomenal.

  • @Drino1969 some day some day.....

  • The only ting I don't like about the bike is, there's no boards. It's foot pegs. I have to extend my legs out and relax. I'd never last with my feet right under my seat.

It's not an ergonomically sound bike. For me.

  • Nice bike. Love the country.

  • I'll donate some room in my garage. This way if you ever visit MN....you have a bike up here. LOL

    Just saying.....

    hehehehehe
