And yet everyday, Caltran engineers see cars dodging signals and gates. It's silly how stupid people can be. You get carried away by driving or distractions, and suddenly that crossing gates are down. Safe driving is only true way to be safe. There is no excuse. Decent PSA.

please remember the 300:29:1 rules of unsafe behavior like this, there are 280,000 railroad crossing in the United States, the reason collisions occur with train is that , trains is traveling faster that it appears, this year 600 people will die and 2000 will be injured

i know it will travel at 220MPH a friend of mine works for the CAHSRR its just that when its going from san jose to san francisco it will only travel at 80MPH so they won't need to spend a ton of money on only 77 miles of track

@caltrain2 its going to travel 220 MPH, and it will go From San Fransisco to L.A. you should check out their HSR authority website, the construction is expect to commence in 2012.

the train will either going to be elevated, Trenched or underground tunnel when they get there electrification, for caltrain and the HSR.
