A from San Francisco asks: "If search engines rely primarily on textual analysis, how can a site that focuses on audio, video, or other non-textual content improve its rankings?"
Am a novice in all of this but I was just wondering if anyone knows how to add subtitles just like the one on this video. Also I heard him say Google has provided some tools for this. Can you help please? Be very clear with links and so on as am a novice.
Unfortunately I was expecting to hear that the alt and title tag of an image could be used to enhance both the user experience as well as the searchengine of the page. Or am I off?!
I have the same situation with my site. Fortunately, I love what I do so adding commentary to each pic or video is fun for me and helps satisfy the search engines.
Yeah, meta data and captions; or even descriptions in plain text near, beside, or under the video helps (not just for SEO but ease of use for the user visiting the site.

Matt: There are software to automatically recognize audio and making it into a transcript. Unfortunately most of them make a lot of mistakes.
Say you have videos and use software like that to create a transcript, would a lot of misspelled words damage ranking, or would it improve it?
