Dir. Mike Figgis / UK / 2009
07/05/09 was shot over 24 hours in London. It follows the life of a single girl, from her waking, to her sleep. In four minutes, we see what she faces throughout the day.

This months' Future Shorts festival title is inspired by Golden Bear winning film 'Please Say Something' by David O'Reilly which is featured as part of the programme.

  • would have been made a lot better with just a little bit of tit.

  • @pfranks44 yeah , i agree . the concept , the main idea - good. but the film....no..i did not liked it...

  • @twin7819 well i think the main idea is that the soundrack is actually these....sounds. i think this ( the soundtrack ) and the sleeping scenes were the only good think here...

  • with a different soundtrack there would be no point to this film

  • I agree w/ harrisonekalsone123's comments. But have to say that the outcome of this video was lacking.

What new is being introduced here? The same old image of daily monotony affecting the lives of nearly everyone? That we're sheep being herded? Sure. Agreed. But what else could this video have offered? What other kind of spin off that same old story?

Dunno. I just think it could've tried a bit harder.

  • Do you really think so ?

I think the silence in this film has the effect of increasing the tension.

  • Amazing!

  • That was very good. I think a good soundtrack would really improve it much better.

  • i have to agree with your first comment there pfranks44 but i do understand the cinematography; they tried to make it look as though she was the only one (or she FELT she was the only one) going att normal speed whilst everyone else were bustling around hardly thinking about what they were doing.

  • I liked the concept of it. as others have said, it does evoke a sense of emptiness and meaningless.

But I have to say, I dont really like how it was filmed. I didnt like the cinematography very much at all. quite boring in that sense
