I'm surprised this hasn't surfaced on YouTube yet - and I guess an actual video performance would be even more rare - but this is the original 1986 version of Candi Staton's latterly classic "You've Got The Love", the acapella of which was put together with the dub of Frankie Knuckles' "Your Love" to make the version we all know and love, some years later (1990).
Of course, back then it all sounded very, very different...

its soo funny how it's just changed completley for anyone who never knew this firs after hearing the source/florence version mus be like wtf?! where did they get the idea from?
This is a beauty of an original as it suits Candi Staton's style. However the later version with The Source is a classic. My daughter was raving about Florence. Bless her, she's too young to understand. All my best music is on vinyl.
@fondoogle, that statement about covers just rendered all your opinion about music ridiculous. You just called Johnny Cash a 'shit artist' for example.
The new cover is just going to encourage more shouty and annoying music. I don't believe many people understand what makes a great vocal anymore as they have been watching too much X factor.
