I'm not much into effect, and hate to criticize solely on poor special effects, but when a director opts to do poor effects instead of just show cause and effect scenes, which actually are better than outlandish special effects, it isn't good, no matter what year you make a movie in. Movies made in the 1910s and 1920s had better effects than this.

This movie was so scary when I saw it as a kid. But we watched it the other night and laughed ourselves to death. The cheezy captain and the dame knocking off come on back and forth. The part where she tells him her name is Iris and he tells here when I call you by your real name you'll know it! LOL We loved it. We like dubbing our own voice over. We also loved The Day the Earth Ended. we love the 50's b sci fi movies.

I have the crystal-clear DVD! Loved this decades ago on Channel 11's CHILLER THEATRE. Was cool to stay up late Satruday night in my pajamas with a can of root-beer and a big bucket of butterd popcorn, and maybe some pizza. Sci-Fi CINEMAGIC!
