Environment Florida and our allies ran this TV ad to help convince Sen. Martinez to oppose drilling in the Arctic Wildlife Refuge, which would open the door to drilling off Florida's coast.

  • The rich folks don't want an oil rig to destroy their beautiful beachside property and yet these are the same folks who go from a small beach house to a taj mahal after a storm, must be nice. We've been to all the Gulf of Mexico states that drill and did not see any effects on the beaches and we are cleaner in our drilling because China and Cuba dont have the enviromental regulations to follow. Cannot wait to move out of florida.

  • Drill here off our coast!!!! Hell we have cuba and china drilling off our coast... so why can't we drill and bring down our prices and it would also open new jobs for the ones who do not have a job!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's time to drill.

  • "yet they are on the endangered list. All to stop oil exploration"

Not only that but for MONEY. Global warming is just an idea one retarded guy came up with and got rich off of it because people believed him. Its all about money. Global warming, dont drill offshore or u will kill a dolphin, polar bears are dying, all that stuff is not really happening its just for the money.

  • ok my bad I looked at the wrong thing. Anyways 125 million is still a lot less than 300 million. Plus Japan isnt having to use alot of money on a war right now so they have more money to spare on little itty bitty cars. Plus a lower percent of their population uses cars than in the US almost every American has/uses a car.

  • listen up: you think oil is easy to get to? you think they drill on platforms out in the sea cause the like the challenge? the truth is that oil companies hold leases to over 20% of offshore land for drilling but refuse to develope it. all they want now is to purchase rights to the rest but not develope oil. does that make sense? yes, for the same reason they keep refining capacity down : raise the price of gas. exxonmobil brings in $30 B per quarter (look it up) this is their business plan

  • hey fuckwad, japan has a population of over 125 million, get your facts straight

and b you don't make any sense. innovation in technology should be easier since we have more people, because we can train more scientists and engineers. and another thing, there will never be high supply of oil and oil companies will make sure of this reality. look up exxon record quarterly profits and you will see what i mean. holy shit, ignorance on the internet ... stunning.

  • "if japan can build efficient cars, why cant we?" Why cant we? Japan has about 5 million people. The USA has 300 MILLION. sorry buddy but efficient cars or watever isnt happening here for a while. We are going to be depending on gas for a loooong time. That is why we need to drill here and drill now. WE NEED MORE GAS. if theres a low supply and a high demand, prices are going to be high but if there is a high supply and high demand prices will drop.

  • ya drilling for oil off florida will do exactly nothing to reduce oil prices in the next 10 years, and 10 years from now when it knocks a few pennies off the dollar, gas will have increased so much you won't even care.

can't drill our way out this problem and that's the plain truth.

whatever happened to the spirit of american know how and ingenuity? if japan can build efficient cars i don't see why we can't.

  • Fuck the enviroment.
