I am 30, college athlete and being into sports all my life. I do flight a lot and a month ago I was diagnosed with DVT. I have 4 blood clots in my legs. Good that you took precausion. Yes, you cant go to sleep and you should get up and walk every 30 minutes.
Tim, With your diet, I think you are alright for DVTs without the tension stockings.

ur suppose to put them on after u elevate ur legs for awhile or when u first wake up...that way the blood is already somewhat out of ur calves...

Take a couple of aspirins about one hour before your flight
