"For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
(John 3:16)

This is about a 45 minute lecture by James White that debunks the arguments those hostile to Reformed Theology (or Calvinism as it is otherwise known and correctly spelled) often use in regard to John 3:16. These "arguments" include "World means world!!!", "WHO-SO-EVER!!!", and so forth.

(The spelling of "Calvanism" was intentional. We get so many emails and comments trying to debunk "Calvanism" that I figured I would use it in the title to make a point. It's ironic that many don't even know how to spell it yet they claim to be familiar enough with it to have examined the claims of it thoroughly and have debunked it.)

Lord willing, there will be more lecture series coming soon that deal with different verses in the near future.

Thanks to James White for allowing me to make this video and post it here.

  • @BiblesOnLine God is Love(1John 4:8,16). It's his nature to love. Everything God does is an expression of Love. Therefore the lake of fire must be a manifestation of God's love. So yes God does punish those in the lake of fire. How else can his love reach them?

  • @741rjohnson Yes, God love everyone he will send some to fire to let them burn for eternity.

  • @BiblesOnLine Are you saying God doesn't love everyone?

  • Except for murder, slavery has got to be one of the most immoral things a person can do. Yet slavery is rampant throughout the Bible in both the Old and New Testaments. The Bible clearly approves of slavery in many passages, and it goes so far as to tell how to obtain slaves, how hard you can beat them, and when you can have sex with the female slaves.

    Exodus 21:2-6

    Exodus 21:7-11

  • No matter how many times the church revised the Bible, "YOU CAN'T FIX STUPPIDITY"

Christianity is for the Deaf, Dumb, And Blind.

No wonder why every Christian who uses his brain looks for another faith.

Wake up Christians, God gave you a brain use it. Oh... What... I didn't realize it was a sin to think, sorry... never mind.

Your colonial masters or protestant parents taught you Christianity, when you were too young to think objectively.

  • The false claim in eternal life in John 3:16 is given even more credence as it was preached to the superstitious and mostly literate masses of the Greco-Roman empire to gain fast converts in a ancient world that swam in a sea of religions and promises of hope. End the end; it was Christianity which out sold its fellow religions with verses like John 3:16 which gave more hope to its superstitious world.

  • The so-called Christians today are simple-minded and lazy to look into the matter. So we'll do it for you: the word translated "world" in John 3:16 is the Greek word "kosmos." The word never means "every individual of mankind who ever lived." In fact, the word has at least seven different meanings in the scripture, depending on the context in which it's used.

If you read what the verse says, and read the context around the verse, you would find that the answer is right before your lying eyes.

  • Every so-called Christian in the world will cite John 3:16 as proof that God loves everyone. They don't have a clue what the verse means, and, under the guidance of the lying false prophets who make up the "Christian" landscape, twist it to mean what they want it to mean. We call that "wresting the scripture unto your own destruction." 2 Peter 3:16.

It seems that if you're going to base an entire lying theology on one part of a verse, you would atleast know what the verse means.
