Cool-as-ice misanthropic philosophy from Bongo Joe (George Coleman - not the sax-playing jazzer) dispensed while beating out rocking rhythms on a 55 gallon Texaco Firechief oil drum with sticks made of hammer handles with rubber chair leg caps and hand oil cans jammed onto them filled with pebble and B-B shot to provide that maraccas sound. The theme of this jam: man's inhumanity to man!

Found this LP in a cut-out bin 20+ years ago, and bought it because it looked cool...a method that has served me well, leading me to Leo Kottke and Show Business Giants, as well as to this great album. Thanks for putting this up so I can share it with others.

Late 60s I think, though he'd been doing his thing in front of the Alamo since the late 40s. Check out 'Transisitor Radio' by him which I've also put up. The LP has seven tracks, all killers.
