Bring it on! So grateful that you are making this essential film.
-
I cant wait for the full movie... when will it be out??
-
I'm so excited to see this!

I have to deal with this issue... My husband and I are stationed in Okinawa. All the American women give birth at this one hospital... and there's a lot of bad reviews on it online going against birth plans... doing unnecessary interventions, and doing things to the baby after it's born without the mother's position. I've been working my ass off to find a Japanese midwife on the Island before I give birth... and I need a translator to boot!! There needs to be more options to women!
-
It's so frustrating to me that people think they can outlaw home birth! That's ludicrous!
-
I'm an ICAN co-leader from Canada and I'd love to show this film to a group of mothers here when it's available. :)
-
Finally, I loved the comment at the end about the out comes for mothers, I know from personal experience that an EMPOWERED, SATISFIED & HEALTHY MUM is the MOST IMPORTANT OUTCOME in a birth as without that, a healthy baby, dad and family are 10 times harder to achieve and maintain.

Midwife run child birth classes are also needed to be mandatory and government funded so that woman can learn the basic physiology of birth and understand the irreversible risks and damaging implication of ALL medical or even some herbal interventions AND learn that there are CHEAPER, EASY TO LEARN, LOW RISK & MORE EFFECTIVE alternatives to use during labour (such as self hypnosis and birthing pools).
-
Women deserve to have access to different sources of information so that they can truly make informed decisions. I hope that this is a catalyst for the majority of healthy low risk births to be moved OUT of the hospital all together and into government funded and regulated midwife run birth centers, or most ideally people's own homes.

Continued .... However, I am slowly realising that the issues raised in those films and this one are not other people's problems but issues of international human rights.
I hope people do not see this film as just a debate on the merits of a certain birth location as I think it is more about educating people that unfortunately the perception of birth has been changed and the responsibility for decision making has been taken out of the individual woman's hands.
