I used to watch this show when in highschool, now on my masters I realize that there are many things never change.

I love how the girls didn't just dress like guys but dressed like guys in the 1930s lol

I used to love this show when it originally aired. I'm watching it over now and I see how ahead of its time this show was. Sad that it got cancelled.

Why are people so cold hearted and closed minded ... stuff like this makes me think about how fucked up this planet is and how much hate there is in this world.. makes me sick!

That was very interesting and insightful.

...wants to be loved as a woman but looks like a man therefore she acts like it. It's only natural to do so BUT when she wants connection, closeness and intimacy it's strange to her...and so she does what she deems feminine to get it but however it looks strange because she's not in tune w/ that side.
In result she gets looked over, rejected or the other party is repulsed. She is then left confused about her sexuality..

With her, also seeming content with everyone calling her "Sir" it's a way of negating her feminine self and asserting this power of being overbearing, mean, cruel, insensitive and domineering...these qualities are very synonymous w/ being a male. It's as if for her male and female sides cannot coexist and that the only way to be respected and feared is to be male-like. We've seen it it past episodes when she pursues Krupps in heels in a flirtatious manner and the guy who creepily stalks her.She
This episode was fantastic -- the walk out scene at the end was so amazing, because Ms. Debbie is holding her things in a box and walking out she looks so small and alone -- which mirrors how she must be feeling. Just an awesome episode.

I love popular and I love mary cherry/ cherry cherry hahaha soo funny! I love that the show has so much more depth than the title suggests and that it was targeted at teenagers in school, I used to watch it religiously with my best friend and i think it made us feel better about the ignorant bigots in school who were idiots to him coz he was gay. I dont think there are enough programs like popular for school teenagers out at the moment
