In this last segment of the 2nd series, we witness Miyazaki sitting and working as usual; only, his back giving out somewhat scary violent aura this time. Director can't stand the fact that one of the animators depicted running Ashitaka with kinetically wrong movements, and to make it worse, did so wrongly in a timid way.

Miyazaki explains it's due to the animator's stuck-up prejudiced mind which decides what running should be like and cannot get away a step from that bias. Also, he insists if an animator have a timid attitude toward life, it really shows on the paper, and the result is ruining the characters and thus, the animation.

Miyazaki continues that only the sort who could digest all the frustrations in real life for an energy to move the characters on the sheets can be a qualified animator (or anyone doing a creative stuff), which sounds powerful and convincing when it's uttered from Miyazaki, since that's exactly how he's kept doing all his life.

Look forward to the coming last series that is the 3rd chapter as well then ( ;

  • I love how Miyazaki gives a 3-minute monologue about how Ashitaka's stride and face are all wrong, spits on the animator who created it, and painstakingly changes everything, and then in the final rendering Ashitaka is almost wholly covered by trees anyway. >_<

  • @droid740 I'm moving out of that situation currently. I have a main character (with braces :P).

  • @TheNintendoGalaxy if you're stuck you don't know your characters enough. Know them well and they tell you what to do.

  • Miyazaki's so intense about his work. It's almost scary! :D

  • @Archigearour I've been stuck on the same story for 4 years and it isn't even near half developed. It is just a lot of making and throwing away. It's hard but I'm trying my best to relate with the audience.

  • @TheNintendoGalaxy I'm doing animation in art school haha. Very daunting industry, so inspiration is always always essential.

  • @Archigearour So, your an animator too?

  • @momomomomorino 宮崎駿みたいなまともな人間が冗談として使うなら分かるよな。でもasd200618みたいなマジキチも多いからな。

  • 手厳しいww
