Back when she was filming the movie "Serial Mom", she was diagnosed with Rheumatory Arthritis, its very painful, and she had to take steroids iver the years to treat it. the steroids deepened her voice and altered her looks, making her look and sound more masculine.

but shes still one of my favorite actresses. i still think shes a good lookin woman.
