Ev'ry Valley - Tenor aria from the "Messiah" by Handel. Immediately following the shorter aria (recit) Comfort Ye which is in comparison calming and sedate, Handel suddenly decides the Tenor needs to wake everyone up with a stirring, demanding Tenor aria. Listening to various artists on Youtube who perform this aria, you realize there are huge differences in how this can be sung and at what speed. There is no right or wrong speed, it seems to depend on how fast the singer can handle the runs and trills etc. Originally, Handel meant for the Messiah to be an Easter composition, however, in our modern day it is generally performed at Christmas. Please enjoy and Merry Christmas to all. BTW, the pictures are of the wonderful Canadian Rocky Mountanrs not far from our home which we (my wife and I) took.
