RGB LED SCREEN (obsolete prototype)

This is my electronic prototype of RGB LED SCREEN. The red channel is not working properly yet :) I am still working on the hardware drivers and programming for video processing.

Characteristics

2 columns of 36 smd RGB leds,

wireless connection to PC

EEPROM memory integrated to store images in PNG, JPG and GIF format :)

using T.I's TLC5940 chip would vastly improve this design and with the addition to mosfets you could drive a sign 20 times the size of this one and still be good man you have to think of size of things these days people dont buy or sponsor a 10 ton 360 led display that works. people are looking for compact surface mount boards that are less than a pound or two but good thinking and check out ideas at brilldea's website

Thanks for your comments, but this is not a 10 ton 360 screen. it weights no more than 140 kg actually. it is already using SM and it is intended to display speudo-holographic images.

@ecapco beyond the menu commands how can the font size be changed? my screen is blank on one unit and on another unit the menu font is too large so i can't see the options. help.

You can do that with 2- times less electronic parts by using LED drivers from "mbi" family (i.e. mbi5168) - they're cheap and work very well.
