Dogs invent safe ball tag

www.spiderhollow.com/ratoodle My dogs play a safe but crazy game of tag everyday. It used to be that sometimes one of them would get hurt and mad, usually Oscar the raving ratoodle. (Rat terrier - toy poodle mix.)

Pearl (Aussie - border collie mix) began to carry a ball during the game, and soon, it became their rule, so nobody gets chewed on! Smart dogs, good plan! I suspect that carrying the ball started as being possesive of a toy and being afraid to part with it, even for a game of tag. Either way, we're all happier now!
