87' Wheel Horse 312-8 cold start

throttle was stuck at the beginning...
hasnt been started since October 29, 2011. non-heated garage w/ a low of 2.5 degrees over night.
all I gotta do is flick the choke and it starts right up. itll run on no choke right away too since it runs a little rich.
im guessing the trans oil has some water in it or incorrect weight oil; it shifted really slow and in neutral, it puts a load on the engine and jerks forward a little...
