La Couture is a spacious, comfortable house with beautiful terraced gardens, set in the heart of the Loire Valley vineyards. It overlooks the water-meadows of the meandering river Indre near to where it joins the Loire - on one of its most beautiful stretches.

At La Couture we offer Bed and Breakfast (Chambre d'Hote) and gite accommodation:

Three very comfortable double bedrooms, with en suite or exclusive bathroom, as well as chidren's accommodation. All our rooms were redecorated/installed in 2008

table d'hote in the evenings for those who wish, with four courses and local wine included in price (no need to drink and drive)

beautiful gardens in UNESCO World Heritage site
lovely walks all around, with amazing troglodytic dwellings within 5 minutes easy stroll
the Rivers Indre and Loire within walking distance
many nearby chateaux, of which the world-famous "Sleeping Beauty" castle of Rigny-Usse is the nearest (5 minutes drive or bike ride)

We also have the Les Hirondelles gite, available by the week for self catering holidays. Tenants of Les Hirondelles have their own terrace and entrance and full use of the gardens.

All guests, whether in the chambres d'hote or Les Hirondelles, will be able to use the swimming pool from May 2009.

In addition, if you are a large party, in 2009 it will also be possible to rent the main house at La Couture. Please enquire giving the size and composition of your party.

Wine-tasting is an important part of any visit to our area, but we can also offer the following distractions: you can walk - ride bicycles - paint or take photographs - watch the birds and wild-life, or just sit and read and admire the view. You will never be bored
In particular we can arrange on your behalf:

- Bicycling along the banks of the Loire, along the special bicycle route on the levee
- Boat trips on Indre or Loire in traditional flat-bottomed craft
- Visits to local Brocantes (outdoor furniture and bric-a-brac sales)
- Visits to troglodytic dwellings in Loire escarpment and /or mushroom caves
- Balloon trips over the chateaux

We can also provide special local holiday packages on request. Examples are: Famous Gardens, The Loire by Boat, Painting Holidays, and The Loire Underground...

The Loire Valley is the historic heart of France. Its mild, pleasant climate, stirring history, noble architecture, fine wine and food combine in a perfect expression of French art de vivre. Our three luxury chambres d'hote are an excellent base from which to explore the area - or to spend the night if you are passing through.
