James Kalm soldiers on biking to Midtown right across the street from the Empire State Building for a viewing of this debut fair. Volta presents over 50 artists, each displayed in individual installations. With an international cast and a tightly focused curatorial mandate viewers enjoy a less commercial more experimental and conceptual tilt to the art. Featuring an interview with Christian Viveros-Fauné.

  • At 2:36 you make a mistake with the artist who is actually Jesse Bercowitz @ Galerie Micheal Jannsen from Berlin. FYI.

  • Thanks ajules66,

  • Interesting art. As an artist I like to see new things in art.

  • What was the name of the one person who did the bubbly, abstract acrylic paintings?

  • i too dig the work you said was experimental painting. we need more painters in this world who are willing to experiment.

  • Solid work no less. Loved the Whitney coverage.

  • Great report as always! Thank you both SO much for sharing this!!
