After Lud Gluskin The Ramblers were the hardest swinging band in in continental Europe pre-war. Funny enough during the Nazi years there were quite a lot of bands that played quite daring arrangements, thanks to SS protection. The Kulturkammer tried to eridicate all Negro influences in dance music, but seeing the black SS uniforms in music halls made them back out. You might not be allowed to dance, but hot music was played all during the war, using the last American songs and arrangements.
