Revolvo has produced a short teaching video designed to enable users of its ranges of split roller bearings (SRB) to achieve 'right first time' fitting and disassembly of the bearings. The video takes a simple, step-by-step instructive approach, supported by an audio commentary, to introduce users of SRB to the most efficient methods - the best practice - of installing and disassembling the bearings, in order to ensure that machine downtime is always kept to a minimum.
Commenting upon the release of the video -- the first of its kind in the industry - Adrian Menzies, Revolvo's Sales and Marketing Director said: "With SRB we have created a user- friendly bearing that offers high performance coupled with quick installation to reduce downtime. The purpose of the video is to provide a tool to quickly guide users on the most efficient methods of installation. Now that video has become so simple to access online, we felt that it was a natural progression in our customer service; as far as we know this video is the first of its kind in the industry."
The video is split into five discrete sections; each dealing with a specific part of the installation process. The sections include: unpacking, disassembly and cleaning; shaft check and inner race fitting; outer race and housing sub-assembly; and final assembly and bearing removal and inspection.
The video is suitable for use by any personnel involved in the installation or maintenance of SRB bearings. It is available online at www.revolvo.com or can be sent via DVD upon request, making it easy to view in any location with an internet connection or DVD player.
The video was produced by leading technical marketing agency, DMA Europa. Roland Renshaw, the project manager, said: "When used correctly videos can be fantastically simple tools to give customers further access to product knowledge. Revolvo saw an opportunity to help customers get the most from the SRB bearings and maximise their advantages. The video is shot in a clear and instructive format that compliments the rest of Revolvo's product literature."

From the technical, economic and pure design point of views, SRB split roller bearings offer a host of advantages and cut downtime significantly. The SRB bearing is completely split to the shaft, which allows for complete bearing removal and replacement by simply supporting the shaft, without the need to lift it, or obtain access to the shaft ends, therefore expensive and awkward to handle lifting equipment is not required.
