I may have thought of a way to deal with overspeeding. Could be useful for your next prototype. pm me.

How i can buld that ?? :)

Seems like a really good design. There is a lot of surface area for the diameter, which I would think should mean it spins faster.

@CmdrGendoIkari Actually, at this time the Spiralairfoil spins slightly slower then traditional configs but the power curve is litterally off the chart. We did a test with two models, one SpiralAirfoil, the other a traditional tri-blade, both were identical in diameter. The SpiralAirfoil produced 6 times more power then the traditionals. Both test models had three wings. I have made the claim that we may have come close to the Betz limit, if not exceeded it. Time will tell all. Thank you

Good luck with your plans! The bit I like about your design is that it appears highly visible when spinning versus propeller-style so I hope this can mean fewer bird-strikes. Also perhaps not the same tip vortex pressure drop zones that have been killing bats even when they are not physically hit...

@lockhughes Well, plans oft go astray, but we don't quit. A visual front view looks like a flower and is solid looking as a bird is flying towards it. Everbelly knows that glass window take out far more avian then wind turbines, however more turbines will mean more flying critter deaths. I cannot say there are no pressure differentials with the SpiralAirfoil, but I do Mother Nature has instilled in our flying friends a lot of common sense, they will avoid the SpiralAirfoil as it apears solid.
