Period 6
Christine C. - Hostess
Tracy R. - Teenager Guest
Alia S. - Black "Suspect"
Emily B. - White "Suspect"

Concepts:
Social Identity Theory (Tajfel, 1972) - people view others in terms of groups they belong to, which can lead to stereotypes.
Social Categorization Theory - categorizes people to groups.

Empirical Evidence:
Test of implicit stereotypes about black people compared to white people (Dovidio & others, 1996; Kawakami & Dovidio, 2001)
We changed the experiment a bit to remain in the video time parameters. Instead of having participants press buttons for adjectives that either describe white or black people, we made ours focus on a student making one general stereotype based on race.
