a ride on a Philippine National Railways train

only P20 round trip

It is more pleasant to ride the train than the light rail metro (LRT/ MRT) because the LRT people are really psycho about forbidding photography.

  • whats the service been like since rehabilitation passenger numbers/frequency/delays etc??

  • @evantis121 i've only ridden it once, so i don't know if there are frequent delays. frequency- it runs once an hour form morning till 6PM. the last train goes as far as Laguna, but it uses the old non-airconditioned train. the airconditioned train only goes as far as Alabang.

about passenger numbers, well, you saw the interiors of the train car in the photo. that was taken mid-afternoon. i imagine it's more crowded during rush hour.

  • Why the windows are fully covered ??

  • @kai77577 a lot of informal settlers live on the train tracks, and sometimes stones and bottles tend to get thrown at the windows. the grilles are there to protect the glass windows.

  • @evantis121 cause like heygem said alot of informal settlers live beside train tracks so they are preventing some un wanted incidents like some criminal activities

  • @heygem Very interesting, thanks. Why do services end at 6PM, it seems very early. Is there any reason for this?

  • Thats cool as :D

    Easy Transport, less traffic :D

Except they need to install safety crossing signals :D
