Meridian Village Apartment Fire

NORTHCHASE - Two New Hanover County Deputies are credited with saving a family of five from an early morning apartment fire.

White on patrol near Meridian Village Apartments, Deputy Chris Roseblock and Deputy Joshua Bryant observed the burning apartment this morning just after 4:30. The two Deputies requested Fire and EMS to respond before forcing their way into the burning apartment and assisting five of the sleeping occupants, including a 9-month old, to safety.

Fire response included New Hanover County Fire Services, Castle Hayne Volunteer Fire Department, Wrightsboro Fire Department and Wilmington Fire Department.

New Hanover County Fire Services are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire as officials with the American Red Cross assist about twenty-five who have been displaced by the fire.
