This is part of near-complete video project that I've almost finished, after nearly a year. It could either be a training video or my demonstration reel.
At my school, Detroit Catholic Central High School, the string orchestra recorded a cover of The Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24, and, using their soundtrack and TSO's inspiration for the song as guides, I shot this video.
It consists of shots of the players (in order: Nick Sturla, Connor Teevens,
Cameron Stapp, Mitch Belisle, Mike Siberski -- special thanks to them all) combined with stock footage and a separate story to create one narrative.
It is meant to be an elegy for those whose lives were lost during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War, but it ends with a note of hope that only Christmas can bring.
However, I have not shot the footage for the story, so this video is not only incomplete, but it lacks the ending and catharsis. IT IS NOT COMPLETE, but when I do finish it (and I will), I will post it.
Until then, please let me know what you think of the footage I shot. I know it might look bad, but please be nice!
Special thanks to our conductor Mr. Greg Normandin for the soundtrack.
NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT IS INTENDED. I respect copyright, but I simply want to both promote my school and gain feedback for the video.
(Sigh) Well, it's been four months of no progress whatsoever. I've casted three different times, but they've bailed out every single time. This video will never be finished.
I will take this down and replace it with my working copy, possibly with extra shots of the musicians. I was planning on having additional footage (i.e. a story) to provide a better ending. Still, it won't be the same.
