This is a short instruction on how to build your own custom built hobby model rocket. This is only a quick instruction and not a thorough detailed list. If building a kit rocket, always follow the instructions provided in the kit. I have added a re-edited version with slower text.

  • this video sucks no one would be able to make a rocket from this shit. Put together a real video that is useable.

  • I guess I'm not an expert like you. Oh, sorry! YOU DON'T HAVE ANY VIDEOS! ;-)

  • ok..im interested..but video was unreadable.

how does length, diameter, nose cone size, materials, fin dimension, motor size effect the project?

  • Sorry about not getting the timing right on this video. I am by no means an expert. Just a part time modeler. There are some other rocket videos that are made by serious rocketeers who would be able to answer your questions better.

  • that sucked

  • Thanks so much for your kind words.

  • this sucks

  • judging by the comments..you should probably take this down

  • good call on not leaving the words on the screen long enough for them to stop moving......

  • @ramicaza, start on the Estes model rocket site. They sell builders kits that have a variety of parts. You can get the balsa for the fins/wings at almost any hobby store and even at a few places like Ace Hardware. A bit expensive, but its an option. You can also look at online vendors like TowerHobbies or their website rocketfun (dot) com.

  • I have been in model rocketry for over 25 years, and overall your video is not bad for a start on the facts, but the special effects and transitions between each frame did in fact make it unreadable to the newbie rocketeer. I would suggest remaking it into about a 3-5 minute instruction, with your transitions being at least 20 seconds apart. Use that time to describe what you are seeing in the video. Goodluck..

  • were do you get body tubes

  • Text looks fancy and all, but is about as practical as using a tank to cross a frozen lake.

  • You can build your own motors. But, it involves a lot of calculation in order to make it work right. Get it wrong, and it will either be a small pipe bomb or a really cool little smoke generator. Commercially available motors are practically foolproof in design and highly reliable. You can get anything from a little A up to a G without any certification. You want bigger? Talk to Tripoli or NAR and get certified for up to an M or above.

  • dude slow it down a bit!

  • then click pause!
