The PMO has all the power in Canada.

And on that point there is no debate!!

The house of commons is nothing more than a bad show, to make the people feel like they have a democracy. When the truth is we have an elected dictator.

Thirteen well educated, informed and savvy people on laptops could run this entire country just fine. It seems ridiculous to say, however much of what Rick says here is so true. Our parliamentary and electoral systems come from the 1700‘s and have no place in a progressive, connected country moving into the 21‘st century. Stevie and the Harperettes are simply adding to the reasons why Canadians require, and are starting to demand parliamentary and electoral reform from the bottom up.

Well said. If no one cares about what goes on in parliament just make the Prime Minister the King of Canada & let's stop pretending you care or have a say in how our country is run.

That's not really how it's suppose to work. We are supposed to be a bicameral parlimentary system. That's mean that someone propose a bill, it is debated&voted in the common, voted in senate, resent to parliament&revoted, revoted in senate, send to committees... In all, bill are to be debated 6 times before application, plus pass 2 committee.

Harper want to do is "fuck you, I got a mandate to do whatever I'm please" and he goes near enough the procedural limits...

The ignorance you show is the problem with our country!!! Harper has tried multiple times to deregulate our banks to be like the USA, it was the opposition of that time that stopped him from doing so! Or else we would have been like the USA if Harper had succeeded.

Please!! For your own sake and for your parents! Stop merely watching TV and actually do some reading and research. AND I'm NOT talking about the Calgary Herald or canada.com either!!! Do some REAL fact-base research.

You are an idiot, an elected dictatorship is not democracy.

Elected dictatorships are those where dictatorships cleverly masquerade as democracies. In elected dictatorships, regular elections are held, a docile and subservient press is maintained that purveys lies and fear to intimidate the voters to support the ruling elite. The ability to pull off this masquerade of pretending to be democratic makes elected dictatorships difficult to eliminate.
