So right on! What's good for Mother Earth is Good for YOU! As Sally Cunningham, Buffalo's own "Garden Lady", explains that it's not just sprawl, but how we sprawl. So thinking communities through from both the walking issue, to providing space for both indigenous animal and plant survival is doable. Can we please get the local building developers OUT of local Public Office! They are only there to drive their own business growth.

I do dream of living somewhere like this.. it just makes me think when I see tons of new houses and store being built, and it wastes so much precious land when it can be used much more efficiently and environmentally friendly.
Hi Drew...This is an awesome video and we are so proud of you being part of the team of writers. When I was a kid, everything was within walking distance. I could walk to Grandma's house, the store around the corner, the boulevard where all the shops were, and to school and church. There was even a pedestrian tunnel under the boulevard to walk through...which would be considered dangerous today I'm sure. Keep up the good work! You are in our prayers. Mike & Diane Underwood
I like the statement towards the end that refers to new urbanism as the traditional neighborhood design. Currently I live in a small town where I can walk or bike to everything. I live 4 blocks from church, 5 blcoks from work, and 3 blocks from the grocery. There are certain things I have to give up though, no Home Depot, no multiplex, no Barnes and Noble. But there is a food co-op, coffee cafe, and bakery within 6 blocks too. We buy gas once a month. I am all for what these guys are promoting!
Hey Drew, this is cool - I love it! Living in LA where I do, the neighborhood is really close to this idea, everything is close... I love being able to walk to eat or shop, wish I could for everything! An its more of a community, I love that feeling... not the sterile keep-to-yourself track home feel. Becca~

I live in a small town on South Coast of England where everything we need, including the beach, is within a 15 minute walk.
Hope you win and get to go to the conference!
