This song is special, and not just because it's my first anime song dub. I actually created English lyrics for this over a year ago for a talent show, even though I had never sung before or taken lessons (as if my voice doesn't make that obvious). As a tribute to past me, I wanted to use some of the lyrics from back then, but I realized that the meaning and melody were both off - so I compromised. I used some lyrics from the old version that I liked, especially for the first chorus, and then made a more faithful translation for the second chorus. I changed a few notes to make it sound a little better (imo) in some places, too. Other than that, I actually managed to write the lyrics so that the syllables match up perfectly with the Japanese original! That means that I actually matched it note for note when I'm not deviating on purpose.
