Hi I was just wondering if the adapter sold on the alfa romeo site would be the same as the fiat 500 one? both say the are adapters for the blue and me system, just the romeo one is £10 cheaper haha

With the latest version of Blue and me Software and a 11 Reg Fiat 500 I am able to play my iPhone4 iOS4.1 without the iPod adapter. Alsoto clarify my iPhone is MAC formated. Also *.m4a files play great but not *.m4p (old DRM files).
Also the bluetooth functionality works whilst listening to iPod music on same iPhone. It even plays the custom ringtone i payed for. Although it is half a second behind the phone in playing ringtone!!

Hello mate. If you have the iphone attached with this adapter, playing on media player, can you still receive calls through the blue and me system?
Thanks, JC.

I'm really interested in using podcasts with the adapter. Can you browse "podcasts"? Or does this only work if you started to play one before you plug-in?
Cheers,
Alex

are the playlists from the iphone shown in the media player of the car or is it only possible to listen to the music by artists, albums etc?

@flow1210mk2 yep - it's not easy to control, but the media player can step through playlists, artists, genres etc with the display in the centre of the speedo

one question. why cant you use the normal Ipod USB cable to play music instead of this blue&me thing

That would seem logical - but unfortunately technology gets in the way. Blue&Me is built on top of Windows CE, which only recognizes Windows formatted volumes (eg, memory sticks, hard drives). So if you have a classic iPod that you use with a PC, you *can* plug it straight in (although it'll only play MP3s - Windows CE doesn't play AACs eg from iTunes store). So the dongle does the clever stuff to allow iPhone/iPod Touch to play *all* of its music despite Blue&Me not being able to see them.
