poor steve...
i swear that man had the worst luck...he is still the best canadian cyclist ever...but i wish his luck had been better..ive fallen like that, but in my case my shorts got ripped off nearly lol..i was 17..i had to take my jersy off and cover myself..i look back on it now and its hysterical..but i was really upset about it at the time!

Si raul alcala es un ciclista que nos hace sentir orgullosamente mexicanos atodos los que amamos el ciclismo y a parte fue un corredor clasico de los que realmente corrian fuerte y no habia mucha technologia como hoy en dia.

The angle doesn't show it, but Steve could have easily hit either or both the sign and telephone poles and really gotten injured badly.

I recall Bauer's crash so well when it happened cause they kept repeating it on TV. Lemond was fading and Indurain started to dominate (TT & mountains) at the TDF. Lance was still amateur, maybe neo pro at the time.
