Support our nuns (www.drukpa-nuns.org)! Druk Amitabha Mountain in Kathmandu, Nepal, was founded by His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa (www.drukpa.org), the spiritual head of the Drukpa Lineage, in 1989. It was gradually and steadily transformed into the home of more than 300 nuns coming from remote places in the Himalayas and is now the main branch of Druk Gawa Khilwa Nunnery. Druk Amitabha Mountain is managed actively by the nuns. This short documentary gives a vivid background of the development of Druk Amitabha Mountain, as well as His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa's commitment in promoting gender equality within the spiritual community of Himalayan Buddhism.
I appreciate very much His Holiness´efforts to preserve nature and environment, peace and well being for all sentient beings, literally: including really all the animals and consequently not eating them. Thank You for your great teachings and example!

His Holiness' effort to promote gender equality is just one of many outstanding examples of this great Master's infinite wisdom and compassion. Women´s rights, environmental awareness, health services for the needy, spiritual teachings for his students.... I'm in awe at the scope of his projects. May His Holiness live a long and joyful life for the benefit of all beings!
