Second what makes you think things like trust, honor, etc. are bound up in a belief in a higher authority. Hitler rejected the theory of evolution, didn't understand what it was (read mein kampf and this becomes obvious), claimed affiliation with the Catholic church, claimed to serve the "almighty creator" and his men were as Christian as all the other Europeans of that era.
