Not too many Chiefs of Police have as good a sense of humor as El Paso Chief Greg Allen. A KLAQ Morning Show listener, the show was surprised and flattered when Chief Allen said that he'd help play an April Fool's prank of unsuspecting listeners. As you'd expect, police HQ was bombarded with calls, but Allen and the EPPD deserve a lot of credit for letting their approachability and fun side show! BTW, the cell phone ban is real and the law did go into effect April 1, 2010. They won't actually hand out tickets until May, though.

I just love how people believe almost everything they hear. I'm glad that the El Paso Police Department have a sense of humor! I one day hope to become a police officer.

This is eerie and brilliant. Last night, on the local news a viewer called in and said how people believe whatever the news tells them too and this prank was proof of that. A lot of people called in believing this "joke."
