In this video series, I hope to explain everything that you need to know about building a hackintosh. Throughout this series, I take you from the beginning stages of planning and researching, all the way to having Mac OS X fully running on your PC!

In the first part of my series, I go over how a hackintosh system is different than a real Mac. I also go in depth over the pros and cons, as well as some tips to get started. The goal of this video is to help those of you that are on the fence of attempting this process!

More questions? Check me out on Twitter: @cpukid

  • DUDE, CAN YOU JUST CREATE A STEP BY STEP W-R-I-T-T-E-N- SUMMARY OF ALL THIS STUFF AND UPLOAD IT ON THE NET SOMEWHERE?? JESUS. MOST OF US DON'T NEED ALL THE EXTRA AUXILIARY INFO. YOU SEEM TO BE THE BEST AND ONE OF THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE DUDES OUT THERE, SO MAKE THINGS IDIOT-PROOF, AND SUCCINCTLY. PLEASE.

  • @DimitrisMPapadakis Check out the blog post in the video description of each video in this series.

  • kick ass series my man. thanks so much!

  • @aflumbahgee Once an update comes out, you can download the updated version from the mac App Store and use that. You only need to go to Snow Leopard if you don't have a way to get Lion, such as on another Mac.

  • @cpukid00 can you download lion off the mac app store if you already have lion installed on your computer so that I wouldn't have to buy snow leopard; or should I just wait for OS X mountain lion?

  • @cpukid00 I looked around on your channel and couldn't find the video about which WiFi you used, could you send me a link to it or something please. I have also watched almost every hackintosh tutorial on youtube; yours is the best by far and deanwrayUK does very good ones too. :D

  • Cool intro can't wait to watch the rest of the series now......

  • all 8000, 9000 series nvidia cards work natively... I'm using an NVIDIA 9600 GSO works natively at full speed under retail Lion! Most GeForce GT 500 series works... the best would be the ATI Radeon HD 6870 or 6970....
