Tim was the only driver who could really handle Earnhardt. Some of Dales 7 championships would have been his. RIP Tim.............

This was Tim Richmond's second straight win. He won the Southern 500 the week before. Man, I'd love to see that finish as well. I love Darlington and I really love seeing these Tim Richmond videos. Thank you for posting this. It's a shame Nascar STILL has their heads up their ass and won't acknowledge him.

Yes thank you. It is September 7th 1986 to be exact. I thought it was 1986 but then a history of Television programs for Nascar listed it as 1987. I checked driver histories to find the right date.
