  • This proves that the 1900's were the place to be. We cannot however, be blindsided by the hype in todays world. This is just magical.

  • @Joeykaratekid I wish I could tell you about a big band currently working and touring, but I can't.

  • The Duke! Musical royality. This song has me thinking about my lady and I going to a dinner party. We walking into a guest room and my lady has a blue satin dress with gloves to match. In my mind she is moving in slow motion.

  • What a great comment. Thanks.

  • The real deal. Class is in session -- both the education, and the high character of the man. It's a blessing that he ever lived to create music. Thanks.

  • Man, this is amazing. Very good tune, you're the best man @kenjames64

  • @kenjames64 Try the Maria Schneider Orchestra; or the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra; or the Mingus Big Band; or John LaBarbera's big band; the Airmen of Note; Darcy James Argue's Secret Society; Vanguard Jazz Orchestra; Roy Hargrove's big band; Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra; the list goes on…

  • Thank you for this. I am 51 years old, and very grateful to my parents, who exposed my sisters and I to this music. My dad was a musician who was very prolific tenor Saxaphonist. Although my older sister and I listened to r & b (Motown, etc), we still appreciated this music, including Duke, Ella, John Coltrane, etc.. Jazz, it seems is hardly being recognized anymore.

  • @kenjames64 Isn't it a shame!! Big Band and Jazz - real jazz - clubs are hard to find these days.

  • @kenjames64 Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band check out sing sang sung

  • @kenjames64 JALCO is one, led by wynton marsalis, who runs the essentially ellington high school jazz band competition
