THE DOMINICAN JUDGE WAS ONLY PERMITTED TO MARRY WITHIN HIS JURISDICTION OF LA VEGA, HOWEVER, MICHAEL JACKSON HAD HIM COME OUT TO A HOTEL ROOM AT CASA DE CAMPO - SOME 200 KILOMETRES OUTSIDE OF THE LEGAL ZONE! @Mrs3ASS Whether or not LMP was in love with him is irrelevant. The reality is he was certainly never in love with her. LMP made the mistake of ASSUMING that he was. She shouldn't have. That was highly presumptuous on her part.
Sawyer and the rest of the media were FURIOUS. She knew Michael would NEVER be interested in someone with LMP's profile, so she was furious that he was attempting to use Elvis's daughter. Sawyer is not a dumb woman, and she used her position to go after him.

@MRMJISAGOD It definitely was a PR marriage. The only thing that is unclear is whether Michael was forced into it. Based upon what Michael later said, it appears that he felt pressured to try the PR marriage route in an effort to win the media over. The media liked the Presleys and were fairly protective of Elvis's only child. That is why Diane Sawyer and other media people were so angry. They knew Michael Jackson would NOT have any real interest in someone like LMP. She was a ZERO!

@MRMJISAGOD Sorry, dear. That wasn't the Cinderella-fairy tale romance LMP fans wanted it to be. Michael never had any real interest in that uneducated, no-class slut. She chased after him, then she was dumb enough to ASSUME that he was in love with her--which was ridiculous. Dumb sluts like LMP are a dime-a-dozen, and he knew that. LMP convinced him that her last name would shield him from the media's attacks, so he married her. When that didn't work, he replaced her.
