The Fender definitely has the better tone, more organic and natural sounding. However it has to be said that the Peavey does an amazing job for a solid state amp at a third of the price.

As much as I wanted the Peavey to sound almost good to my ears.... as soon as you jacked into the Fender I knew it was too to be true...

peavey has a little warmer tone but the fender has more natural dynamics because of the tubes

I love solid state amps but I play just uber saturated stuff, I clicked on here out of curiosity, and the Peavey's doing the job here fairly good. I expected a far more marked difference in sound with "normalish" cleans. I'm impressed. The fender DOES have a touch more depth, but if they weren't being a/b'ed this close together I probably wouldn't register the difference as much...

I too am looking for a Back Up Amp. Like the price of the Bandit, but like the tones of the Fender. I did not realize that the Bandit has been around for 30 years. That has to say something for the Bandit. Yeah, I know, the Fender has been around since the 60’s. I once owned one, loved it, sold it in a moment of weakness. Dang!

I play thru a team of vintage bandits--a 112 and and a 65. They have extremely nice cleans and take pedals very, very well. If you can find an older one, pick it up. American made, tough, and seriously undervalued--for now.

I actually think the hot rod sounded less warm compared

Thanks for the video. I was just thinking about purchasing one of these as a backup for the other.

I can't stand tube snobs...I had a Fender Hot Rod Deville 212 and yes it had an amzing clean sound...but now I have TWO bandits...the later Chinese made one and the older Sheffield one....BOTH have an incredible clean sound and better distortion than the Fender...at a quarter of the price...go on tube snobs...spend your money.

LOL is this a joke?

a bandit from the 70s ? I thought the first bandit was the bandit 65 from 1985, 65 watts and scorpion speaker
The Peavey didn't sound better, per say, but the gap between the two was not as small as the large price gap would suggest. Both great amps.

@hazuinf The Bandit is a very underrated amp, it sounds so good live. You can dial in almost any sound from it too. Both are nice :)
