  • That's a very similar version to the one that Derek Jones and one of GM Cheung's Si-fu's taught me. What linage does this come from? Cheers.

  • Derek Jones made a big impact on Wing Chun in Europe in the 80s. I was in England with GM Cheung on a seminar tour around the time Derek pasted away nearly 2 decades ago, he had a lot to offer in the short time he was here R.I.P. And yes this is GM Cheungs SLT, I am a 27yr veteran of WC with over 20yrs directly under GM Cheung. Is your Sifu David Fairclough? Thanks.

  • The copyright would lie with the holders of his estate (Julie?). He also qualifies for a blue plaque this November, would be nice to see one put up in his honour.

  • @Bopsable I have also thought that the youtube hungry Wing chun fans would enjoy some footage of Master Derek Jones (my friend and teacher). I was thinking about putting some up, but I'm not sure what the go is regarding copyright etc?

  • It would be nice to see some video footage of the late Master Derek Jones on youtube. We have just been watching one of his demo vidoes (he gave to my husband, his friend before his untimely death) where he uses two pairs of nunchucks and butterfly knives.

  • That is AWESOME!!

I do not know this ART, but I can see the level of Skill this man has!!

  • @kunaix4 as far as I know, the most authentic form of wing chun is that of under the Samuel Kwok Association, if you want Authentic Ip Man Wing Chun, train under one of the Sifu's that Samuel Kwok himself hand picks to teach Wing Chun.

  • It should have been slowed down at some parts :D

I'm searching for a good siu lim tao, for traditional Wing Chun (William Cheung's Wing Chun), and I think I just found it, but the whole circles are not exactly how we do it...

Though, thanks for the video, now I know the order. :)

  • My sifu learned wing chun from Leung Sheung, and he told me our way of wing chun was the traditional way and it is different from this. We do a huen sau instead of the entire arm spinning thing as demonstrated in this video. So is this traditional or not?

  • Nice music! really relaxing :D

  • My husband was right when he said you only ever meet someone like Derek once in a life time! They had been friends since their teens, and saw his dream of having a school achieved. Gone, but never forgotten!
